FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Pro Search’s Revamped
Website
Unites Job Seekers, Employers
(Portland) Pro Search, Inc., one of Maine’s leading
recruiting firms, recently unveiled its newly redesigned Web site at
www.psicareers.com. It was developed by Portland’s flyte new media.
The site’s fresh look and streamlined appearance
makes it easy for job seekers to find information and opportunities in Pro
Search’s four employment specialties: Information Technology,
Accounting/Finance, Sales/Marketing and Office Support.
Ed McKersie, Pro Search president and founder, said,
“The goal of our redesign was to give Maine job seekers more than just
access to the best employment opportunities in the state. We want to make
it easy for them to join our network, submit or update their resume, and
enjoy direct access to their listing in our confidential candidate
database from the comfort of their home or office.”
Many candidates mistakenly see a job search as a
single event, McKersie explained. “Once they get a new job, they think the
process is over. But we see it as part of an ongoing career development
process, almost a lifelong event.” Once a candidate is in the Pro Search
database, they remain indefinitely unless they choose to remove
themselves. So it’s important to update your profile regularly.
“We always look first at the candidates in our
database whenever something exceptional comes along,” McKersie said. The
only exceptions are candidates placed with clients, he stressed, which
would be unethical.
“The majority of people we place are actually PASSIVE
job seekers. They’re not actively looking for a better position. But they
indicated they were willing to consider an exceptional offer if one
presented itself.”
All registered Pro Search users can provide details
about their current situation, i.e., whether they’re actively looking,
their “ideal” job, etc. Filling out the online application puts them in
direct contact with the Pro Search recruiters who specialize in their
field. They can opt in to the firm’s exclusive email network, which
delivers new job opportunities and employment news right to their inbox,
or email job listings to friends directly from the site.
The updated site provides valuable advice on job
search strategies, interview techniques and compensation issues. Pro
Search experts provide candid feedback regarding an individual’s
marketability, discuss other viable options, and help develop a game plan
that leads to interviews and offers.
“Looking for another career opportunity can be a
full-time job,” said McKersie. “Why not get help from experts?”
Connecting Companies With Candidates
Rich Brooks, president of flyte new media, said,
“We're psyched to partner with Pro Search. It meshes well with our
philosophy of entrepreneurship. We love helping match Maine businesses
with the employees that will help them grow and compete on a national,
even international, level.
Because online job searching is such a highly
interactive process, Brooks said, the flyte crew re-engineered Pro
Search’s Web site from the ground up. “We made it fast and easy for job
seekers to find only the jobs they’re interested in, without getting
swamped by a lot of irrelevant listings.”
Pro Search’s new site allows candidates to be
proactive in their career development, without spending a lot of time on
it. “Our recruiters put in the hours, so you don’t have to,” McKersie
said. “They’re constantly scanning for good opportunities and good
candidates. Of course everything — even whether someone is listed in our
database — is completely confidential.”
Pro Search is on the Web at www.psicareers.com.
