Each week at the Hannaford Supermarket & Pharmacy on Forest Avenue, we’re holding free cooking classes. Our expert chefs will demonstrate how to prepare three complete meals in three different cuisines.

This Tuesday at 5 pm, it’s Fiesta de Hannaford. We’ll begin by sorting out the mysteries of Mexican cuisine. It’s simple really, since most dishes utilize the same few ingredients, just prepared in different ways.

We’ll show you how to make a complete Tex-Mex feast, including a crispy tostada salad, spiced chicken tacos, corn-stuffed chiles rellenos and steamy frijoles (refried beans). Enjoy free samples and receive complimentary copies of each recipe.

This Tuesday at 5 pm, you can decide for yourself. Our third (and final) cooking class features three favorites from Louisiana’s famed French Quarter. Our expert chef will show you the secrets of preparing a hearty, Creole-style shrimp jambalaya, zesty chicken gumbo and, of course, red beans ’n’ rice (both traditional and meatless).
