FAMILY CHIROPRACTIC OF KENNEBUNK
EXPANDS TO LARGER RT. 1 LOCATION
(Kennebunk) Family Chiropractic of Kennebunk has moved to a new, larger location at 44 York St. (Route 1 South) in Kennebunk. The new location is next door to Window Pretties, and just south of Wallingford Farm on the opposite side of Rt. 1.
Dr. Pedro "Pete" Gay, D.C., said the larger treatment facility was necessary to satisfy the requirements of his thriving practice, which had outgrown its former space in Lower Village.
The new facility is a former residence, which was gutted, doubled in size and completely renovated. Family Chiropractic's offices and treatment rooms occupy 2400 square feet, more than twice as large as their old facility.
It includes a suite of offices for the doctor and his support staff, a complete x-ray facility and three well-lit treatment rooms where patients receive spinal adjustments. A large, off-street parking area was added in the rear.
Family-oriented facility
The largest adjusting room is bathed in daylight, thanks to triple atrium doors, and features not one but two adjusting tables, located just a few feet apart. Why two?
"Many of my patients are families," explained Dr. Gay. "So this room is especially comfortable for parents who bring their children. Watching mom or dad get their adjustment first takes away the mystery of what chiropractic is all about. And having their parents in the same room reassures them that there's nothing to fear."
Plenty of children's picture books are also on hand. Some explain the benefits of starting chiropractic care early, before structural and health problems surface.
"My son has been receiving chiropractic adjustments since he was an infant," said Gay. "And he's one of the healthiest kids I know."
"Dr. Pete" and his wife, Dr. Jennifer Schiel-Gay, who is also a chiropractor, opened their practice in July, 1994 after both graduated from New York Chiropractic College, in the scenic Finger Lakes region of upstate New York.
Jennifer has since taken a leave from active participation in their practice, devoting her time to raising their son Alex, who turns 5 in December, and daughter Julia, who will be 2 in December.
Families and individuals wishing to learn more about the benefits of chiropractic care, or to schedule a low-cost initial examination and computerized spinal evaluation, should call Dr. Gay's office at 207-985-8877. For more information, visit their web site at www.FamilyChiropractors.com.
